The Band and The Staple Singers : "The Weight"
From "The Last Waltz", and yes it's as Mavis whispers at the end ... "Beautiful" ... a lasting memory of those no longer with us.

From the movie "The Last Waltz" ... I've got it on a VCR tape from a TV showing, then I bought the subsequent releases on commercial VHS tape / DVD, and now the Blu Ray edition. It's a bit sad watching it now that Richard, Rick and Levon are no longer with us, but it's a movie that captured a moment in time when "The Band" were about to split up, yet are seen here playing what might have been o...

From "A Concert For Linda" at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999. Rediscovered it on an old VHS tape I had recorded it on when it went out on TV. Thought I'd better save it while the VCR still works.

Another from "Live from the Artists Den". The team that recorded this whole show did a great job, the sound recording and the video editing is a work of art. For someone like me who loves live music it's good to watch a DVD where you can really get the feel for being at the gig ... the switching of the camera angles is just so well done. And If I could have been so lucky to be at that gig I wou...

Not many of us, however, Peace to all!
He had a baby face
I was introed to this great song by Suede. Hearing them sing it I thought it was an original song of theirs. I told my mum to listen to it, and she was the one who told me it was a cover. Colour me surprised at that.
Most underrated band of all time
Watching this with amazement! The greatest night in musical history
Is that Brian Wilson at the back out his mind?
God, could Richard sing.
Im rolling😂 "til she got it in the A"-LG 😂😂😂
Talk about some talent ❤️swampy and tighter than a gator’s arse
What a nightmare for an entertainer.
Always loved his music and. I'm now 81,and still play it.
On some songs I could confuse him for Bob Seger. Gotta be some shared influence between these guys!
Beauty at the end melts me and daddy staples wow
Tl 👍
The rains fall down on my door. Help me Lord.
He let you know love is still real
Anielski głos i piękna Sine'ad ❤
Not in very good shape myself. Just buried the love of my life
Greatest hit!❤
Bob S and Rod S in one
I met Richard when I was 10 yrs old on Brunswick st in Stratford at my cousins house 😢
The best
One of the best live bands ever.
This is cool reminder about how great this band was. Audiences and critics loved them but they never got the record sales they deserved. The current line up do a fine job but the band here are truly special.
Terry Evans. ❤️
Amazing.
Richard had such a great voice. A wonderful soul that we lost too soon.
Diving for dear life………this is sublime.
When I first got into The Band, I thought Robbie was doing the lead vocals? Richard had a fantastic voice!
For perspective, whatever the 'oppresive Thatcher narrative' hold in parts of the UK for old industries, are not the experience of other less industrial, but no less deprived areas of the UK. Some areas and the country as a whole shook off the stale economics of the 1970s, like it or not like it. The Falklands? What would you have done?
Note to self. Do even think about crackin jokes in Cologne. They hate jokes.
My favorite of the British Invasion!!
Singer’s Singer
I worked for Ronnie Hawkins years ago before I was married
Please tell us more.!!!!!!!!
Genuine feel good!
Frankie’s the man! (More heart than Pharlap.. I should explain - Pharlap = legendary race horse in oz born with a huge heart) All the best from Australia
Você é lindo, Frankie! Faz parte da minha vida porque o vejo e o ouço todos os dias e isso só me faz bem. Obrigada por compartilhar essa música que é absolutamente sensacional. Esse show foi mágico. Você está em mim, sempre!!!❤
Wow!! What a voice! 👍
One of my absolute favorite Rory rockin songs!
Silkemyk Soul❤❤😂
Love it!
what a horrible audience. Just the worst.
Big time, Bill! Big time!
Great song
I have this show on DVD
Remember watching him in that late 70’s BBC play to do with sectarianism.
